Health Library

Health education is an important service we
provide our patients and the community. The Health Library
is an online resource to supplement information your doctors,
nurses and pharmacists provide. Our library includes
a medical
dictionary and calendar
of health events. We also have an A-Z list of
conditions and treatments.
We have news
about research advances and treatments, patient
education materials and listings
of other helpful Web sites such as the National Institutes of Health's
MedlinePlus.
Medline Plus provides information including:
Visit our online bookstore to see books
written and recommended by our doctors, nurses and others.
Other library resources include the UCSF Kalmanovitz Library, at 530 Parnassus Ave.,
that provides links to consumer
health sites.
At the Mount Zion campus, the H.M. Fishbon Memorial Library
assists patients with health information through its service
called HealthWorks.
Journals, medical references, books and other resources
are available to the public. The library, at
1600 Divisadero St., Room A-116, is a participating library
of the National Library of Medicine's Loansome
Doc program that fills requests for journal articles
for a $15 fee.
