This monthly class — offered by the Cancer Risk Program of the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center — is for individuals who are interested in learning about genetic risk for cancer. Topics include breast and ovarian cancer risk factors; genetic susceptibility risk factors; cancer susceptibility genes BRCA 1 and 2 and genetic testing; guidelines for early detection of breast and ovarian cancer.

Join filmmaker and breast cancer survivor Lori Benson for a screening and discussion of her award-winning autobiographical short film "Dear Talula. " The film portrays a woman whose grace and courage allow her to transform her breast cancer diagnosis into a journey of self discovery.

The film is free and open to the public. It will be shown at the UCSF Helen Diller Family Comprehensive Cancer Center auditorium, Herbst Hall, 1600 Divisadero St., second floor. Feel free to bring your lunch.
