UCSF Medical Center is ranked fourth in the nation and the best in California by U.S. News & World Report in the treatment of hormonal disorders such as diabetes and other glandular conditions. Our endocrinology and metabolism services include comprehensive consultation and treatment for patients with diseases of the endocrine system, such as hypothalamic and pituitary disease, adrenal disease, amenorrhea, hirsutism, male sexual dysfunction, osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease, abnormalities of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, renal stones and lipid disorders.
The UCSF Diabetes Center is one of only 11 Diabetes Endocrinology Research Centers in the country, named by the National Institute of Diabetes, Digestive and Kidney Diseases. As part of the national designation, the center receives federal funding for diabetes research.
