The UCSF Vasculitis Clinic cares for patients with all forms of systemic vasculitis, including Churg-Strauss syndrome, giant cell and Takayasu's arteritis, granulomatosis with polyangiitis (formerly called Wegener's granulomatosis), microscopic polyangiitis and polyarteritis nodosa.

Our rheumatologists work closely with dermatologists, kidney specialists, neuromuscular specialists, ophthalmologists and pulmonologists at UCSF Health and in the community. Diagnosing these complex diseases and managing the health of patients calls for intensive collaboration.

In addition, the Vasculitis Clinic participates in studies of new diagnostic techniques and treatments. We're also involved in research to identify genes and genetic factors associated with the development and progression of vasculitis and other autoimmune diseases. These studies are sponsored by the National Institutes of Health, American College of Rheumatology and European League Against Rheumatism.
