The Cardiovascular Performance Center provides comprehensive heart care for physically active adults, including recreational, college, professional and masters athletes. Some of our patients have had a cardiovascular event or are at risk for having one. Others want to better their performance while respecting their unique cardiovascular risks.

Along with expertise in exercise physiology, our doctors have extensive experience in treating athletes with cardiovascular conditions. They understand the physical demands that sports place on the body, especially the heart.

Because sports cardiologists tend to be athletic themselves, they can identify with your outlook and competitive spirit. Our team wants to help you enhance your fitness and performance, ward off heart disease and extend your athletic career.

For your convenience, UCSF patients may access the following cardiovascular tests at UCSF Health–affiliated Sonoma Valley Hospital:

• Pulmonary function testing
• Echocardiograms
• Stress echocardiograms
• Bubble study echocardiograms
• Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
• Lexiscan (a type of cardiac stress testing)
• Treadmill exercise testing
