MarinHealth orthopedic clinics are dedicated to helping patients not only return to physical activity but achieve optimal health. We treat a wide range of musculoskeletal issues, offering surgical and nonsurgical options for spine conditions, such as chronic back pain and vertebral fractures; specialized care for arthritis and other causes of joint pain; and total joint replacement surgeries for the hip, knee and shoulder. Our expertise includes revision surgeries, which are procedures to replace failed joint implants or correct other problems from previous joint replacements.

Our orthopedic specialists use the most advanced techniques for both diagnosis and treatment. The surgeons are trained in minimally invasive procedures that allow for more rapid recovery than traditional approaches.

The partnership between UCSF and MarinHealth includes our main clinic in San Rafael (Marin County) and two in Sonoma County. UCSF and MarinHealth also share ownership of Marin Specialty Surgery Center (MSSC), located at 1 Thorndale Drive in San Rafael. MSSC has four operating rooms and three overnight-stay rooms. Patients who need surgery may now have their procedures at either MSSC or MarinHealth Medical Center.
