- How do I access the new health screener?
Search for the free UCSF Mobile app through the Apple Store or Google Play, then download the app to your smartphone.

Don’t want to download the app? You can visit the UCSF Digital Screener on any web browser from your computer or your mobile phone.
- Is my information on the health screener secure?
Yes. Everything you share is stored on a HIPAA-compliant server.
- I don’t have a smartphone, forgot my smartphone, or don’t want to download the UCSF app. What should I do?
You can complete the health screener on a home computer by opening any browser and going to the digital screener. Scroll down and click on the blue oval button to take screener. If you do not have a computer at home or prefer to screen in person, you can answer screening questions with a Guest Services Screener.
- I forgot my badge. What should I do?
If you are entering a clinical building, you can manually screen with a person at the front door and then speak with your manager about contacting security for a temporary badge. If you are entering a campus building, you should speak with your manager/supervisor about contacting security for a temporary badge.
- My badge is not working. What should I do?

- Is the new health screener only for UCSF Health employees?
The new health screener is for all employees and learners with a UCSF-issued badge who are entering any UCSF building or satellite office.
- When can I take the health screener?
Complete the screener no more than four hours before your shift. (Remember, the pass expires every 21 hours.) Guest Services Screeners will be at some entrances to help access the app or set up reminders. Screeners will also be available if you prefer an in-person screen.
- How often should I complete the health screener?
You should complete the screener every day that you plan to be working in any UCSF building or satellite office (e.g. Emeryville or China Basin).
- Do I have to enter my email or scan my badge each time I use the screener?
No. Once you select reminders using the gear icon in the top right of your screen, you will go straight to the questions when you click on the reminder link.
- Can I receive daily or periodic reminders to complete the screening?
Yes. Just click on the gear icon in the top right part of your screen. Choose "Reminders" to change how you receive reminders (text or email), reminder days and time, and preferred language.
- Can I change my preferred method for receiving reminders?
Yes. Just click on the gear icon in the top right part of your screen. Choose "Reminders" to change how you receive reminders (text or email), reminder days and time, and preferred language.
- If the new screener is required for all UCSF locations on July 8, what if my building does not have a badge reader?
The new health screener should be completed daily by UCSF employees and learners working at any UCSF building or satellite office. However, not all buildings will have UCSF electronic badge readers on July 8. In those cases, please continue your usual practice of completing the health screener and showing your clearance pass screen when requested.
- Can I tap my badge in any UCSF building?
Yes, you can tap your badge at any UCSF badge reader to confirm your onsite presence and complete the screening process, not just in your own building.

- What do I do to prove screener completion prior to July 8th and at UCSF locations without badge scanning?
You may take a snapshot of the clearance "pass" screen from your mobile phone and save it to your pictures for reference or you may return to the online link or UCSF Mobile App to login to the tool to see your status.
- Do I need to take the health screener if working remotely?
No. You only need to take the health screener if you are entering a UCSF building.
- What happens if I am not cleared to work?
You will be contacted by a representative from UCSF Occupational Health Services for further guidance using the contact phone number you entered in the screener.
