Amie Lencioni is a nurse practitioner who cares for patients undergoing liver transplantation. Before surgery, she provides eligibility evaluations; educates patients about the transplant process; and coordinates care with hepatologists, surgeons and other specialists. After surgery, she monitors patients for complications, including organ rejection; manages immunosuppressive therapy; and ensures patients have ongoing support as they navigate any lifestyle changes and mental or emotional concerns related to transplantation.
Born and raised in Wales, Lencioni is proud to have begun her education and career at the University Hospital of Wales. She earned her master's degree in nursing at UCSF.
Prior to her current role at UCSF, Lencioni spent 17 years as a critical care nurse for patients undergoing liver transplantation surgery, a role that earned her the UCSF Clifford K. and Avola Wilson Memorial Award for critical care nursing excellence.
