About me
Anna Alper is a social worker who cares for patients experiencing a cancer diagnosis, providing emotional support, connections to resources, and assistance with navigating care. She works with patients and their families to develop plans that focus on their individual strengths. She has a special interest in mindfulness-based interventions (techniques that increase awareness of the present moment and can reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression).
Alper earned her master's degree in social work from San José State University. Before joining UCSF, she worked as an oncology social worker at the University of California, Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center.
