Anne Johnson

Anne Johnson is a social worker who cares for patients undergoing lung transplantation. She provides support, counseling and education during every phase of the process. She also helps facilitate several pre- and postsurgical support groups for patients and their caregivers.
After completing her master of social work degree at the University of California, Berkeley, Johnson earned a certificate in advanced clinical supervision from the Smith College School for Social Work. She is a member of the Society for Transplant Social Workers, Society for Social Work Leadership in Health Care and California Society for Clinical Social Work. Prior to joining UCSF, she worked at the San Francisco Veterans Affairs Medical Center for many years as a manager and social worker in the geriatrics and extended care programs.
Johnson is a sixth-generation Oregonian but now calls San Francisco home. In her spare time, she enjoys volunteering at the San Francisco Botanical Garden, knitting, and going hiking with her husband and dog.
