Dr. Akshiv Malhotra is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with cancer or blood disorders. His treatment expertise includes gastrointestinal cancers, lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma, leukemia and multiple myeloma. In patient care, he prescribes medical treatments, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, while also incorporating lifestyle changes to reduce stress and improve exercise habits, diet and sleep.

Malhotra earned his medical degree at DY Patil University School of Medicine in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Cincinnati.

Malhotra's research has focused on treatments for various cancers and blood disorders. He has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented on these topics at several conferences.

Malhotra is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.

Malhotra spends his free time with his wife and two young daughters. They enjoy the outdoors, particularly traveling to, exploring and hiking in national parks. Malhotra's other interests include playing board games, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, watching cricket and working out at CrossFit Oakland.

    It was not made clear to me, nor did I ask, how (My Chart - I hope) Dr Malhotra,'s written report would be provided to me. None yet.

    This is the beginning effort toward this health problem for me. The MGUS diagnosis is new. Could be bad or it could just linger without progression. Hard to know how aggressive to be.

    Very much enjoyed dr muhultra as my physician and he was quite helpful once I learned to ask for what I wanted very much!! Loved the fact he would call me at home if I was having troubles loved that part! As well he was very concerned with giving myself help for my physical issues not related to the cancer

    Very sensitive provider. Provider is referring me to another specialist with more knowledge of my condition so once that happens he will not be my oncologist . I agreed that a specialist with more knowledge of my exact tumor would be very important but concern that the waiting process is hard.

    I did not have results of PET scan to ask the right questions( preliminary report to provider only) later final report in and it did not reflect what provider said to me

    I was very impressed by and pleased with Dr. Malhotra. He didn't rush; no one ever rushes me which is taking some getting used to by me, but I love it! This was our first meeting and he clearly didn't want to overwhelm me, which I very much appreciate.

    His procedural path is more stringent than the one I have been on for the past 20 years for no reason than "every doctor is different" which will require me to have more painful phlebotomies than I believe necessary.
