Dr. Akshiv Malhotra is a medical oncologist who cares for patients with cancer or blood disorders. His treatment expertise includes gastrointestinal cancers, lung cancer, prostate cancer, breast cancer, lymphoma, leukemia and multiple myeloma. In patient care, he prescribes medical treatments, such as chemotherapy, immunotherapy and targeted therapy, while also incorporating lifestyle changes to reduce stress and improve exercise habits, diet and sleep.
Malhotra earned his medical degree at DY Patil University School of Medicine in India. He completed a residency in internal medicine at the State University of New York Upstate Medical University and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at the University of Cincinnati.
Malhotra's research has focused on treatments for various cancers and blood disorders. He has published articles in multiple peer-reviewed journals and presented on these topics at several conferences.
Malhotra is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Society of Hematology.
Malhotra spends his free time with his wife and two young daughters. They enjoy the outdoors, particularly traveling to, exploring and hiking in national parks. Malhotra's other interests include playing board games, listening to podcasts and audiobooks, watching cricket and working out at CrossFit Oakland.
