Dr. Amarpali Brar is a nephrologist who specializes in caring for patients during all phases of kidney transplantation. She evaluates patients before transplant surgery and helps them manage postsurgical immunosuppressive therapy for preventing organ rejection. She also evaluates kidney donors.
In research, Brar’s primary interest is in epidemiology – the study of who develops certain diseases and factors affecting outcomes as regards to patients who receive or donate kidneys.
Brar earned her medical degree at Government Medical College, Patiala in India. She completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in nephrology at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University.
Brar is a member of the American Society of Transplantation and American Society of Nephrology.
