Dr. Andrew Murr is a general otolaryngologist whose focus is rhinology (conditions involving the nose). He chairs the UCSF Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery.

Murr's research interests include new technologies for treating sinus disease and the role of fungus in sinus disease. He also studies patient outcomes after treatment for sinusitis.

Murr earned his medical degree at Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University) and completed a residency in otolaryngology at St. Louis University. He has served as director of the department's residency program and as an advisory college mentor in the medical school.

Murr has been a member of the UCSF Academy of Medical Educators since 2003.

    Dr. Murr is an excellent and expert physician. He got to the root of something that's been bothering me for almost 3 years, In about 10 minutes. He was completely open to discussing both the ailment and the treatment with me, and I feel completely confident in his prognosis and recommendation.

    Dr. Murr was great - he was methodical, listened carefully to my description of the issues I'd been having, and performed a sinus scope procedure that was surprisingly pain- and discomfort-free. He recommended additional hearing testing to research my tinnitus after determining that things were normal with my sinuses.
