Dr Afshar included me not only in reviewing treatment options, but in assessing therapeutic benefits and risks underlying the decisions and reviewing my imaging data and examination findings with me

I am pleased to receive such high quality of care.

Although Dr Afshar seemed rushed and not terribly interested in me, I value his direct comments and I trust his assessment of my situation. I am well aware that some physicians may not have great bedside manners; as long as I trust their knowledge, I can get past that.

Dr. Afshar was great, but I could not recommend him given the terrible scheduling process.

Dr Afshar is the Best Doctor I have ever had the privilege to work with! He is consistently respectful, kind, informative and always includes me in my own Care Plan.

Dr. Afshar provides monthly Intra vitreal injections and consistently Implements good technique & pain control whereby the actual injection often goes unnoticed. I no longer fear injections.

Dr. Afshar is always very personable, kind and a great listener! He always apologizes if he's running behind.

Dr. Ashar provides excellent care by explaining what he sees on scans as well as solutions with risks and benefits

However, on the instructions for my eye drops said LEFT eye and my problem eye is my RIGHT eye.

Dr Afshar is not the first diabetes retinologist I've been under the care of, nor the only eminent one, but the most engaged and in my opinion the one who has been most responsible for preserving the vision I do have remaining

Great doctor

I love Dr. Ashfar, but he was so hurried that it was somewhat of a disappointing visit. Having said that, he had patients backed up, he gave me all the necessary information based upon the images, and I felt well taken care of, overall.

The doctor (provider?) was communicative and thorough. Please remember, he's a doctor not a "provider."

Usually I'm giving anesthesia drops before they give me the dilation drops, but they skipped that step and it was quite painful.

They put me at ease and hoped me understa d diagnosis and how they reached the conusion

Grateful to have opportunity to get the best care by the most expert people.

Excellent care received

Time management is my only complaint. The actual care has been very good. But what were the eye drops for?

Dr Afshar seems competent. My eye cancer surgery was successful. But I've had a long wait with every appt. Frustrating. I heard others also complaining.

Not only did he explain everything to me but he also on my request referred me to a primary with UCSF.Many thanks.

Dr. Afshar is probably the best doctor I have ever seen. He is brilliant and genuine and has amazing bedside manner. Can't say enough of how great he is as a doctor and a person.

Happy to refer other people, but the wait times to get in are pretty dreadful.

I was referred to this provider for follow up care as my first provider left the area. Hence not the same connection as he did not do the original procedure

Dr. Afshar is wonderful! Excellent communication, caring, listens. I wish he could be my primary care provider.

I live over 3 hours from SF. Should NEVER be left in an waiting room for over 1 hour without ANYONE checking on me or any updates.

The staff, everyone within UCSF that assisted me were terrific as always!!! They take everything seriously and have always and continue to make me feel safe, secure, and that I am looked after in the best! I always felt safe and have had the greatest amount of trust to each & every member within the UCSF team that has in the past and present taken care of me when I am within the building within UCSF, and when I am out back home and about! Never any issues and my trust & faith to the UCSF staff & team has always been exceptional and I know my eye's health is taken with the upmost care and every decision taken, made, and done by the people I am with through all the different tests is done safely, carefully, and done to help in either improving my eye's health or in helping keep my eye's health strong and not allowing it to worsen!Thank you Dr. Afshar, his exceptional team, and everyone that has ever worked with me directly, indirectly, and in any & every form in helping with my eye and drastically improving my eye's sight, health, etc these past 6 years!! Without all of your help, support, encouragement, and never-ending work in improving the health of my left eye, I wouldn't be here with an eye that I can use, because prior to my first time coming to UCSF and Dr. Afshar and all of his team's amazing work I would have had an eye that had such terrible health & vision (20-200 vision at one point from what Dr. Afshar told me once) that eventually could have become essentially blind. Thank you all!!!!
