Dr. Ayan Kusari is a dermatologic surgeon who cares for patients with a range of skin conditions.

Kusari's research interests lie in the interplay between the immune system and skin disease, such as how subtle skin changes can be an early warning sign of inflammation inside the body. He has served as a principal investigator for a clinical trial, funded by the National Institutes of Health, on the role human papillomavirus (HPV) plays in skin disease.

Kusari earned his medical degree at the University of California, San Diego School of Medicine. He completed a residency in dermatology at UCSF, where he served as chief resident in health equity. He completed a fellowship in micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology at UCSF.
