Dr. Carolyn Mannon is an experienced gynecologist who is passionate about caring for women in all life-cycle stages and transitions – including during puberty, following childbirth and as they move into menopause. With a particular interest in caring for cancer survivors, she strives to manage the treatment side effects that impact reproductive, sexual, and emotional health and well-being.
Mannon earned her medical degree from Chicago Medical School at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science. She completed a residency in urology at UCSF. She also has a master's degree in physiology and biophysics from Georgetown University, where she studied the use of hormone replacement therapy in postmenopausal women.
Prior to joining UCSF, Mannon worked in private practice for 15 years. During that time, she also served as adjunct clinical faculty at Stanford Hospital, where she taught residents in the operating room, antepartum ward, and labor and delivery. She enjoyed encouraging their curiosity and challenging them to see different aspects of care, so they would become good decision-makers. In 2019, she focused her practice solely on gynecology and joined a concierge practice in Menlo Park.
Mannon lives in Menlo Park with her husband and children, three boys who continually amaze her as they grow. She is active in volunteering at their schools as well as other organizations, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Peninsula. Together with her family, she enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle that includes playing sports. She also loves traveling, new adventures and listening to music.
