Dr. Celina de Borja is a pediatrician with special training in sports medicine who cares for children and young adults with a wide variety of musculoskeletal conditions. In addition to general pediatric orthopedics, her areas of interest include sports and dance medicine, injury prevention and bone health.

Originally from the Philippines, de Borja earned her medical degree from University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center. She completed her pediatric residency through Hackensack Meridian Health at Jersey Shore University Medical Center, then completed a fellowship in sports medicine through Harvard Medical School at Boston Children's Hospital. During her fellowship in Boston, de Borja served as team physician for the women's field hockey and basketball teams at Northeastern University and for the football team at Newton South High School; she was also a consulting physician for Boston Ballet School and Boston Conservatory at Berklee College of Music.

De Borja has been an active medical volunteer with RunSafe, serving at various sporting events in the Bay Area. She also volunteers at the ODC Dance Commons Healthy Dancers' Clinic, which aims to improve the well-being and health of the dance community through education, musculoskeletal screening and integration of health services.

    Dr. De Borja really took time with us, answered all our questions, met with us several times so that we could get a and go over that information that she was getting along the way. And that was really, really helpful. I didn't know that I would get to see her a couple of times and actually get to have those interactions. It was very, very helpful and she's I felt like she was on the case, and she wasn't going to give up until she figured out what was going on, and that was really helpful. That was the first time that it happened.

    The dr was very sweet and spoke to my child and me to get the full picture (background) and to explain her ideas about diagnosis. She took her time, did a thorough exam, and checked all the boxes to ensure we get some answers for what is going on. I am very confident with my son in her care. Thank you!

    The care provider was good, only complaint is again I wish her staff could've called to see if there weee any available MRI appointments the day of the appointment while we were in the office!

    In the first appt we saw a resident before we saw the dr we were scheduled to see. It seems like my child's situation was lost in translation between the dr and resident. We came away feeling wanting to believe what they told us. By the next morning we felt what they told us was not correct. I called the providers office and their assistant who schedules appointments was very helpful and listened to our situation. The scheduler got us an appt the next morning. At that appointment, we just saw just the dr. They seemed to take us more seriously for whatever reason. They ordered advanced imaging which we are eager to schedule.

    We live about an hour away from San Francisco. Unfortunately between traffic accidents , weather and car sickness with my child. We were almost two hours late for our appointment. The receptionist was amazing got me checked in. It was everyone's lunch time so thankfully no one else was scheduled to be seen right after me and the nurse and doctor took a break from their lunch to be able to see my son. They did an Xray that very appointment and we were able to confirm the scoliosis diagnosis that was previously diagnosed from radiology. They were thorough, attentive, caring and kind. Everyone worked together to make us feel cared for and supported. It was an vast difference from what we are use to experiencing in doctors offices. The ease in which they cared for us, calmed my son and made a stressful and hectic day turn into a better one. We were very grateful to everyone that took care of my son that day.

    I brought my daughter to this Dr. As a 2nd opinion, because the 1st Dr. In Humboldt County told my daughter she can do everything she was doing before, in Competetive Cheer and Tumbling. However, my daughter couldn't even squat without weakness happening, plus her knee cap started to move to the side. Overall, the Dr. At your clinic was 100 times better, and truly cared about my daughter.

    We were given a list of physical therapist at Marin, but some of it needs to be updated. Some of the PT offices have closed and my granddaughter's health insurance is Medi-Cal. So it would have been helpful to know which PT providers would even accept Medi-Cal or partnership Health Plan care. Thank you.

    Just that at the end of the appointment with the specialist, it's that we stayed to the end, but we didn't know if we had to leave then or wait for the nurse to tell us that we could go. We made the decision to leave because we looked for the nurse or someone to ask if we could leave and there was no one. Everything was excellent care with the specialist. Thank you very much for your service.
