Dr. Ewing was very knowledgable and experienced. I'm sure she has heard the questions I asked 100s or 1000s of times, so some of the answers seemed a bit like sound bites, but I trust her experience.

This was my first time meeting Dr. Ewing and I had heard nothing but great things about her. I waited an hour in the room for her to see me and she barely introduced herself before starting the exam and chatting through my reason for being there. She was very cordial the whole time and her bedside manner does seem to be great but I felt brushed off and not listened to for most of the time I was there. I came in wanting to talk about getting a double mastectomy due to some false alarm MRIs that had caused a lot of unnecessary stress post breast cancer diagnosis and she told me to get a therapist (which I already have) instead of actually hearing me about the fact that getting this surgery was the decision I was making. She did talk about a couple diff mastectomy options I would be a candidate for but she reiterated a couple different times that I should just get a therapist. I eventually stopped asking questions because I didn't feel like I was being heard and was being rushed through this appointment. When I asked her if she had a plastic surgeon she would recommend for my case, she told me to call her office to schedule an appointment and then I would be assigned a surgeon. Even a few different names of surgeons who are on her team would have been helpful. Maybe she was having an off day? Maybe she was rushed because she was an hour late for the appointment? I'm not sure but it wasn't a great experience overall. Again, she seemed very nice but that doesn't make up for the brush off.
