Dr. Damond B. Ng is an internal medicine specialist who provides primary and urgent care for adults. He serves as associate medical director of General Internal Medicine at Mount Zion. His professional interests include complex care coordination, multiple chronic disease management, diagnostic dilemmas and caring for underserved urban populations.
Among the topics of Ng's research are graduate medical education, point-of-care ultrasound (using ultrasound imaging, as appropriate, to make assessments during visits to the clinic) and organizational management.
Ng earned his medical degree from the David Geffen School of Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles, where he then completed a residency in internal medicine with a focus on primary care. While at UCLA, he also earned a master of public health degree through the PRIME-LA Program, which focuses on health care leadership and advocacy for marginalized populations and communities with few resources. As a medical student, he was elected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society. He is a member of the Society of General Internal Medicine and American College of Physicians.
Ng is a San Francisco native who volunteered at UCSF during high school. In his free time, he enjoys rooting for his local professional sports teams, live music, wandering through museums and building his Japanese whiskey collection.
