About me

Dr. llya Likhterov is a surgeon who cares for patients with cancerous and noncancerous tumors of the head and neck, including those of the thyroid and parathyroid glands, salivary glands and other parts of the oral cavity, oropharynx (middle part of the throat), larynx (also known as the voice box) and skin. He has expertise in head and neck reconstructive surgery using microvascular free flap techniques, which restore function by transferring tissue and blood vessels from a healthy body area to the area needing repair.

Likhterov earned his medical degree from Weill Cornell Medical College. He completed a residency in otolaryngology – head and neck surgery at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in head and neck and microvascular surgery at Mount Sinai Beth Israel.
