Guo graduated summa cum laude from the Ohio State University with a degree in biochemistry and psychology. She earned her medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine, where she became a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society and Gold Humanism Honor Society. She completed a residency in neurology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center and a fellowship in neuroimmunology at UCSF, joining the faculty in 2019.

    Dr. Guo did a most excellent job taking the time to listen to my wife's and my observations and questions. She introduced her trainee Layla and allowed her to begin the interview, which she did admirably. Afterwards, Dr. Guo continued, generously addressing all of our concerns until neither side had any more to share. The tone was perfect - cheerful, yet serious.

    Dr. Guo is so much more than being super nice and professional, she's such a good listener and supporting care giver to talk to, who gives clear and workable advice with understanding and encouraging tone. She always addresses all my questions and concerns thoroughly, involving me in the decision, and made sure I feel completely comfortable and confident in the medical advice and treatment plan. Dr. Guo's confidence and involving me gives me confidence, and I truly feel I could be and I am becoming a better self under her care. Thank you so much!

    She tends to see the negative first on more than one occasion has ask a question multiple times not believing my answer or didn't see me making any positive progress just because one element I didn't focus on didn't make progress.

    Dr. Guo has always been a pleasure to see. Her appointments are thorough & she explains everything as she works her way methodically thru the various questions & testing.     My provider is Dr. Guo, whom I like very much. She was mentoring/teaching a medical student, who was in the room. There were others listening on the computer, one being a scribe. I think my exam was as it should be, all bases covered. My emotional feelings about this visit are that Dr. Guo was less present as a very emphatic Dr., and more in the role as a teacher and clinician. I appreciate her efficient and immediate follow up with things to make life go smoothly as someone living with MS, albeit a pretty mild expression of this disease. I realize that UCSF is a teaching hospital, and she was doing her part with me to educate the next Dr's.

    I haven't had a doctor ask me about what I know about my diagnosis since I was hospitalized. She made sure that I have all the information I needed, and did not treat me like a child.

    I am much happier with the care I received appt 1 compared to yrs At a different hospital. Ucsf ms clinic seem like they want to care about making u feel better. Unlike other hospitals Just throwing the meds at you without explaining much. My neuro at ucsf wants to answer question and wants to actually see what the medicine is doing inside. Sooo that's nice. Def recommend ucsf ms clinic so far seems great:)
