About me
Dr. Kavita K. Mishra is a radiation oncologist who specializes in proton beam therapy, a way of intensely targeting tumors while minimizing damage to surrounding tissues. She uses this technique to treat certain cancerous as well as noncancerous eye conditions.
As an integrative medicine provider, Mishra complements traditional cancer treatments with holistic healing approaches shown to be safe and effective in everyday practice. With a focus on personalized care, she emphasizes the benefits of mind-body practices and offers practical health resources to support lifestyle changes that work with her patients' medical, radiation and surgical treatment plans.
Mishra's ocular research focuses on outcomes for patients with uveal melanoma (a type of eye cancer), particularly with respect to tumor control, eye preservation and quality-of-life issues. In integrative health, her research centers on mind-body practices and group-based integrative cancer care.
Mishra earned her medical degree at UCSF, where she also completed a residency in radiation oncology and served as chief resident. She has a master of public health degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.
