Dr. Lauren Linett is a hospital medicine doctor, a specialist in the care of patients admitted to the hospital. As acting chief medical officer of UCSF Health St. Mary's Hospital and UCSF Health Saint Francis Hospital, she has a special interest in using research and patient care data to improve hospital operations, integrate care across systems and ensure patient safety.

With a focus on hospital operations, Linett leads projects aimed at improving patient outcomes, reducing unnecessary patient transfers and optimizing care across the system. She received an Exceptional Physician Award from UCSF for her contributions to initiatives that enhanced patient flow, safety and resource utilization.

Linett earned her medical degree at the University of Ottawa. She completed a residency in family medicine at the University of Western Ontario. She also has a master of health care management degree from the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

Outside of work, Linett enjoys exploring Northern California's hiking trails and spending time with family.
