Dr. Lindy P. Fox is a dermatologist who cares for patients in the hospital with complex skin conditions.

Fox's research focuses on the impact of dermatologists have in the hospital setting. Her work has helped define this subspecialty within dermatology. She studies continuity of care for hospitalized patients with skin conditions, and she looks at how emerging patterns or new associations of skin diseases are recognized, documented and defined.

Fox earned her medical degree at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her residency in dermatology at New York – Presbyterian/Columbia University Irving Medical Center.

Fox is president of both the Medical Dermatology Society and Society for Dermatology Hospitalists, and is secretary-treasurer of the Pacific Dermatologic Association. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology and Dermatology Foundation.

    Dr Fox is the third dermatologist I've seen because the first 2 just looked at my symptoms from afar without even closeup. Dr Fox actually checked with her hand my skin symptoms, even with her hand checking between my toe digits. For this alone she Is to be highly recommended for her care.

    Although it is clear that Dr. Fox is busy, the appointment itself felt very rushed. Although she mentioned treatment options she didn't talk too much about any risks. However seemed very friendly and did answer all my questions making sure I was ok with the treatment plan.

    I have seen Dr. Fox for15 years. She is extremely knowledgeable and personable but uses only scientific terms to describe my issues, not l understandable lay terms, although I am intelligent, I know she is Very busy, but she I Has always been very abrupt, spending almost NO time with me. Friends who have gone to her changed doctors because of this. Once I had a stitch and she came in, literally for 1-2 minutes, looked, and left the assistant to take care of it. I had never had a full body exam but requested one this time. Specifically said that I know there are "long visits" which cost more but that's what I wanted. I was told that there was no one booked after me so I maybe could have extra time. On the contrary! There was a very quick, several minute, exam and I didn't get to some of my questions, including showing her a photo of a spot I was very concerned about.

    The MD was rushed, seemed overworked, overwhelmed, and unwilling to help me with my new skin growths that could be cancerous. I am not sure what I should do now.

    Dr. Lindy Fox is an excellent physician. Over the years that I've seen her, she has helped me in every possible way. She is as caring and kind as she is astute in her judgement about what she sees reflected in my skin problems; as a result she prescribes medications that are helpful.     Dr. Fox called me "my friend" over and over. This means she did not know my name. That's okay, as she was very busy, but maybe a bit more effort could be made. I felt I was in the hands of a very good doctor, but there was not much of an attempt to describe what was going on with various skin growths. I had to ask.

    I don't feel I participated in a "discussion." Providers did tell me what they were doing at the moment---I had to ask what a "biopsy" entailed, and was never told about the possible outcome of the test. The whole experience felt rushed; without space for thoughtful questions or responses. I'm concerned that that is our health system--and it needs to be changed

    Dr. Fox was phenomenal! She was professional, friendly, answered my questions and calmed my anxiety. My situation was urgent and Dr. Fox put my mind at ease that my spreading eczema will be ok. She assured me the plan us to take care of the current situation and once healed the care plan will be to get to the root cause. And for that I am truly and sincerely thankful! I completely appreciate Dr. Fox!

    Dr Fox was very kind and friendly. She was very proficient and thorough with my skin exam. I felt very comfortable and at ease. This was the very first time I had a complete skin exam to look for possible cancer. I was relieved that Dr Fox didn't find any cancer. I found this to be a very positive experience.

    I'm sure Dr. Fox is very knowledgeable in her field. But when I ask questions, I don't feel she's really listening to me. I wait several months for an appointment, I travel two hours each way to see her, and I'm only given about five minutes. I had a question about a skin condition and she didn't even look at it before telling me what she thought it was and hurriedly moving on.

    It was late in the day and the appointment felt rushed. I had never had a mole check and there was no information afterwards telling me what to look for next time so I don't waste anyone's time. One mole she didn't even appear to even look at. I am confident in her ability to assess my situation but she was definitely short on time.
