Dr. Lulu Tsao is an allergist and immunologist who cares for patients with a wide variety of allergic and immune deficiency conditions. She has a special interest in medication allergies, as well as in immune deficiencies that result from medical treatments for other conditions.
Tsao's research focuses on how to provide high-quality allergy and immunology care to diverse patient populations, including the best uses of telemedicine in allergy care. She has also developed processes to improve care for patients with medication allergies, such as pregnant patients with penicillin allergies.
Tsao earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. At UCSF, she completed a residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in allergy and immunology. During her fellowship, she was also participating in the national Veterans Affairs Quality Scholars Fellowship Program. She is a member of the American Association of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology and American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology.
