Dr. Mary Martin is a family medicine doctor who cares for patients of all ages, from newborns to seniors. She is particularly interested in caring for entire families and developing long-term relationships with her patients, which she believes helps her fully support their overall health. She is also interested in preventive medicine and women's health, including providing contraception – such as implantable contraceptive devices – and managing symptoms associated with menopause.

Martin earned her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University. She completed a residency in family medicine at Cone Health, an affiliate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and California Academy of Family Physicians.

In her free time, Martin enjoys Southern cooking, walking to Baker Beach and through Golden Gate Park, and spending time with her husband and two young children.

    Dr. Martin is an amazing doctor. I always follow her medical advice and that is why I am a healthy and happy senior citizen. She has the answers to all my concerns and encourages me to live a healthy lifestyle related to maintaining low blood pressure via diet and exercise.

    Dr. Martin weighed my observations and emphatically recommended that I go to the UCSF Emergency Department on Parnassus due to a blood oxygen level of 82. She was empathetic but firm, and persuaded me that an emergency evaluation was in order.

    I always have great experience with Dr. Martin. She is a very good listener, does not interrupt you when you are talking, always provide answers based on her experience and knowledge. She is very respectful, non-judgemental and kind doctor. UCSF is lucky to have her in the facility and a long tenure too. I felt fortunate to know and be in the good hands of Dr. Martin.
