Dr. Megan Mahoney is a family medicine doctor who provides primary care for people of all ages. She endeavors to deliver compassionate services that focus on individual needs and enable patients to reach their health and wellness goals.

Mahoney's academic focus is developing approaches to team-based primary care that empower patients, health care providers, and communities in the U.S. and internationally.

Mahoney completed her medical degree and residency in family medicine at UCSF. She serves as chair of the UCSF Department of Family and Community Medicine.

    Dr. Mahoney listened intently to my health issues. She seemed genuinely interested in me as a person as well as my health. Compassionate and very knowledgeable.

    I met D. Mahoney for the first time. She was very professional and caring. I appreciated that she took my health care seriously and important for my well-being. I could not see my regular PCP, whom I respect highly. Being seen by Dr. Mahoney's care added to my trust in the physician care at the Lakeshore Clinic. I will recommend her to my friend who is searching for a PCP.

    Dr. Mahoney always discuss my test results with me expeditiously; nprovides additional recommendations and/or referrals if need be. She is very attentive to my health concerns; she is very thorough, courteous and pleasant. She always takes her time - I never feel rushed when I am with her. I wish all UCSF physicians are like Dr. Megan Mahoney.

    I can't say enough great things about Dr. Mahoney. This was my first visit with her as a new patient. Dr. Mahoney is friendly and courteous while also being professional. She listened to my issues/concerns and addressed them all. She was comprehensive in her explanations and I appreciated that she provided alternatives to treatments. I'm truly grateful that she accepted me as a patient.

    Dr Mahoney was very comprehensive and knowledgeable and so compassionate towards me as a caregiver and towards my son's disability. I felt very cared for and received balanced and thought out information about vaccinations that I was not aware if before

    Dr. Mahoney is always patient, concerned, and expressive, regarding any of my medical issues, or treatments, that will make me better, and fit. Her medical advice is always determined by her listening to my questions/needs, exams. Which Is highly determined by her professional education, skills, talents , research, and experiences.

    Dr.Mahoney was fantastic. When she realized they were running behind she roomed me herself and given the limited time I had remaining before I had to go to work she perfectly prioritized my needs and was extremely accommodating and helpful. Excellent first visit with a new physician and someone I'm delighted to have on my care team.

    She did not remove the ace bandage that I had put on my ankle prior to the visit. This resulted in a very limited exam. I would have put the ace bandage back on myself, if asked.
