Dr. Mehrdad Matloubian is a rheumatologist who specializes in treating inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.

In research, Matloubian has a special interest in the role of lymphocyte trafficking – the movement process of certain white blood cells toward an inflamed area – in autoimmune diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis.

    I was referred to Dr. Mehrdad from oncology to try to solve an issue I'm experiencing. There were some blood tests taken before our Zoom visit that would give him a chance to see if he could help. It turns out rheumatology isn't the answer but Dr Mehrdad still spent additional time with me discussing other possible options. I really appreciate his friendly attitude and desire to help.

    Dr. Matloubian is by far one of the best if not THE best doctor. He listens, offers opinions, learned knowledge, and concern. He is sincere when he says to let him know about my symptoms. He responds same day.

    This was a gratifying experience. Dr. Matloubian demonstrated great expertise in his specialty and as a caring practitioner. This was my first time meeting him, and I was incredibly impressed with his strong understanding of my history. He was very thorough and kind. He listened intently, answered every question, and took time to explain each medical Issue we discussed. I also experienced patience and kindness. I am happy to have met with him. I felt very supported and seen.

    Dr. Matloubian explained everything perfectly and made me so relaxed and confident in his care. He really is in the perfect profession and UCSF is extremely lucky to have him. I went into his office in pain and scared and walked out feeling better and that things were going to be okay. I cannot say enough about him. I would highly recommend him to anyone.

    I was very impressed with Dr. M after my initial visit with him months ago. He was friendly, honest, and kind. Subsequent visits confirmed my initial feelings. He has been responsive to my emails, shows that he cares, is supportive. I see many doctors at UCSF. He is by far the best.

    Dr. Matloubian seemed very kind from the moment he entered the room. He was very friendly and straightforward in his instructions and answers. Going forward, I likely won't be needing his services, but I wish all doctors were like him.
