Dr. Neal Shah is a cardiologist who specializes in cardiac imaging, including echocardiography (ultrasound of the heart). He cares for patients with a wide range of cardiovascular diseases but has a particular focus on conditions affecting the heart's valves.
Shah's research focuses on improving the quality and effectiveness of cardiac imaging services as well as of patient care and health care systems in general. Applying his expertise in analyzing imaging results, he provides guidance on cardiovascular treatments to other care providers.
Shah earned his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Olive View-UCLA Medical Center, where he also served as chief resident. He completed a fellowship in cardiovascular medicine at UCLA Medical Center and a fellowship in echocardiography and cardiovascular imaging at Stanford University Medical Center.
