Dr. Nicolas Lee is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in hand, elbow, shoulder and microvascular surgery as well as in treating problem fractures. He is medical director of orthopedic services at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center, where he sees adult and pediatric patients.

Lee received his bachelor of science degree and a master's degree in biochemistry from the University of California, Los Angeles, where he also earned his medical degree. He completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Baylor College of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in hand and microvascular surgery at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

Outside of work, Lee's interests include golf, basketball, snowboarding and boxing.

    Dr. Lee obviously did not welcome most of my questions so I gave up and immediately decided to get further information from other sources and, if necessary, care from another medical doctor. In sum, he was clearly anxious to end the appointment a couple minutes after giving the diagnosis. The questions I managed to squeeze in were answered and I appreciated these answers but he didn't seem to know how to act. If he wanted to insure I do not return to see him, he succeeded.

    I really think everyone was having an off day. Previous appointment was timely and everyone was helpful and answered all of the questions. This time was like cattle and doctor seemed annoyed at questions I asked though again, my guess is they were rushed for some reason. Maybe overbooked?

    Dr. Nicholas Lee answered all of my questions, addressed my concerns about the risks involved in surgery, and was very sympathetic. He explained that the risk doubles up if I get the surgery less than 3 months from the time I received the injection on my finger/hand. He makes sure I make an informed decision.

    Everyone was AWESOME! Short wait time. Got right into exray upon arrival. Friendly providers with good energy and when I asked to see if my upcoming procedure could be done sooner rather than later, the second doctor was in to talk to me within a few minutes. Nothing felt rushed. They truly seemed to care and if they don't they're amazing actors

    Plan of action not very clear. Only allowed to discuss one aspect of the issues I'm having. Had to schedule another appointment to speak about the remainder.
