Dr. Pratyusha Kishore Narra is an internal medicine specialist who cares for adults. She believes that establishing a collaborative partnership with her patients is the foundation for helping them achieve their health goals. Her special interests include healthy aging, management of chronic diseases, mental health, diagnosing and managing dementia, and reducing health care disparities.

Narra earned her medical degree at Mamata Medical College in India, an affiliate of the Dr. N.T.R. University of Health Sciences. She completed a residency in internal medicine at the Long Island Jewish Medical Center, an affiliate of the Donald and Barbara Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell, where she served as associate chief resident. She completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at Stanford University, where she was awarded an honors scholar certificate in the education program.

In her free time, Narra enjoys reading Russian literature and poetry, and traveling.

    Dr. Narra is an outstanding PCP - one of the best. She is an attentive listener, and makes me feel seen as a whole human being, rather than merely a constellation of symptoms. I believe that her cultural background enhances her sensitivity & understanding of a how a patient's social history affects overall health.

    Dr. Nara noticed I had lost some blood during my surgery, so she ordered a CBC and Ferretin to check hemoglobin and iron stores. I told I had a history of B12 deficiency as well, and she added a B12 to the other studies.

    Dr. Narra is just the best. It's been a long time since I've truly felt safe with a doctor. But Dr. Narra is not only an extremely knowledgeable and good doctor, she is also someone I can trust. If you guys give awards to your best doctors, she should be #1 on the list.

    My wife and I feel so incredibly lucky to have found Dr. Narra! She is the absolute best in every way. We actually look forward to our yearly visit. If any of her patients complain, they need help. This also goes for the rest of the staff -- they were also a complete pleasure to work with.

    I think Dr. Narra is terrific. Our in person appointments are very productive. She is caring, listens well, and I like her holistic approach to health care. What I have trouble with is communication through the web portal. I understand that the health care system is very strained right now and triage is conducted. However, recently, I have emailed Dr. Narra with simple questions, only to receive inadequate responses from nurses. As mentioned earlier, I thought I was getting a physical, only to learn at the conclusion of the appointment that it was a consultation. I will have to schedule an additional appointment for a Pap smear. Frankly, I'm a pretty low maintenance patient. I'm beginning to think that I should call the office instead of communicating through the web portal.

    My visit with Dr. Nara was excellent. She covered all the bases of my medical needs, and was very empathetic in regards to my concerns. It was my first visit with her as my Primary doctor, and I am very pleased to have her as the Key member of my medical team and be able to be under her care. I think that we are quite compatible, which is very important in regards to all types of relationships.

    No follow up, no explanation of result of xrays

    I had asked how soon will my file be ready for the next step, she said as soon as we were done she enter her notes and be set, sounded pretty immediate. Come to find out it was not ready till the end of night and wasnt able to move forward till the following morning (today) which is frustrating in the sense that my doctor lied to my face I specifically asked only that one question and she did not follow through with what she said, next time be honest and just say it should be ready in 24 hrs or whatever but dont make me believe this getting done faster than it is especially when you see im worried about this consider your patients mental state and emotional state dont you think?

    For an annual wellness check, no blood test was ordered. Dr. Narra said that she will put everything on my chart -- it has been 8 days since our appointments and there is nothing on my chart. So, I feel the need to see another doctor for this wellness check.

    My new-patient visit was for introductions and routine physical, not for specific concerns. I would happily recommend Dr. Narra but I understand that her practice is not accepting new patients. I'm grateful that she agreed to see me.
