Dr. Robyn Lamar is an obstetrician and gynecologist who cares for pregnant women as well as women with a broad range of gynecologic conditions. She has a particular interest in taking a holistic approach to treatment.

In research, Lamar focuses on furthering an evidence-based approach to the practice of obstetrics and gynecology.

Lamar earned her medical degree from UCSF. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Kaiser Permanente San Francisco. She also has a master of public health degree, with a concentration in epidemiology, from the University of California, Berkeley.

Lamar is a member of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. She has served as a medical volunteer in Guatemala and participated in a medical exchange program to work on a labor and delivery unit in Bergen, Norway.

    The provider made of point of making me feel comfortable during the entire appointment. On top of her outstanding attentive listening skills, she made me feel safe and respected by explaining to me: why I needed this visit, each single step of the process, the potential outcome of the pathology and what treatment options I had. I also really appreciated that she was giving me a heads-up before making physical contact with me, and giving me options to choose alternative methods to manage the pain of the procedure.

    Dr, Lamar is lovely, professional and thorough. I asked her to check my ovaries for any abnormalities with palpation and she she did that. She organized a bone scan and mammogram appts. I have made the appts.

    I dive 3.5 hours (each way) to see Dr. Lamar. She is so worth the drive. She is not only an excellent physician, she is also an amazing listener, and supports me emotionally (she recognizes the emotional impact my condition causes me and helps me stay positive). I feel very lucky to have her as my specialist.

    Dr. Lamar is always thorough, collaborative, and thoughtful in her approach. Her style is warm, and is she always takes as much time as needed to address all of my concerns and questions, explaining her reasoning from an evidence-based perspective (or being transparent when the evidence is lacking). I fully trust her judgment and feel so well cared for by her.

    I tried to get care in my home state, but was not having luck, so I decided to go ahead with Dr. Lamar and wait out the schedule. She provided for me in the past and I was so impressed with her then and she did not disappoint this time around, I knew she would be prepared and that she thinks outside the box and she is conscientious of her patients pain, time and trying to do the best for the situation. She spent the time and pulled off where 3 other providers did not succeed. I think had I just waited out the scheduling in the first place I would not have had to go to the other 2 providers who were not successful.

    Dr. Lamar provided an exceptional care experience and was the most thorough, kind provider I've encountered in a while! I'm new to the area, and I was thoroughly impressed by the time she spent talking me through my options and never made me feel like she had other patients waiting on her.

    Dr Lamar is awesome. She is knowledgeable, listens to understand, is very empathetic, explains things in a way that Is understandable to non science/medical oriented people, never rushes you, and provides broader advice beyond the organ/area in question. She really helped me to understand, treat and live with a chronic condition along with secondary effects of it. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Lamar.

    Dr. La Mar is exceptional! She always gives you eye contact. She isn't looking at hr computer the whole time. She listens to all you concerns and works out a plan. Great!!
