Dr. S. John Liu is a radiation oncologist who cares for patients with brain tumors. He is interested in developing ways to maximize the efficacy of radiation for brain tumor treatment while minimizing its side effects.
Liu's research centers on improving brain tumor diagnosis and care, with a particular focus on malignant gliomas. He leads a research group spanning many disciplines that uses genetic information and techniques to identify next-generation targets for medical and radiation treatment of brain tumors.
Liu earned his medical degree and a doctorate in biomedical sciences at UCSF. He also completed a residency in radiation oncology at UCSF.
