About me
Dr. Soghra Jougheh Doust is a medical geneticist whose focus is on how genetics affect nervous system function. Valuing compassionate care, she seeks to give patients and their families clear explanations of complex genetic information and to support them in making informed decisions on genetic testing and treatment options for any diagnoses they receive. She is also dedicated to exploring how genetics influence neurological and neurodevelopmental disorders.
Doust earned her medical degree at Islamic Azad University in Iran. She completed a residency in medical genetics and genomics as well as a master's degree in physiology at the University of Toronto in Canada.
In addition to patient care, Doust posts regularly about genetics on social media. Outside of work, she enjoys Persian poetry, including the works of Rumi, Hāfez, Saadi and Ferdowsi.
