Dr. Sriranjani Padmanabhan, called Dr. Sri by her patients, is an ophthalmologist and glaucoma specialist who provides comprehensive medical and surgical care for adults and children. She has a strong interest in working with underserved populations.

Padmanabhan earned her medical degree at the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed a residency in ophthalmology at the Scheie Eye Institute (Penn Medicine's ophthalmology department). She completed a fellowship in glaucoma at Emory Eye Center and a fellowship in international ophthalmology and global blindness prevention at the University of Nebraska Medical Center's Stanley M. Truhlsen Eye Institute.

Padmanabhan is a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and an active member of the American Glaucoma Society. She is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

In her free time, Padmanabhan feeds her insatiable wanderlust and enjoys writing narrative nonfiction, fiction and poetry.

    DR.Padmanabhan is an excellent communicator, and collaborative in dialoguing on my glaucoma issues, as well as an excellent doctor overall. UCSF just needs more docs so patients are able to be seen on timely bases, If complications occur with other patients affecting schedule to avoid overloading her and other docs. Perhaps extra time should be built into daily schedule to allow for that.

    As usual Dr. Sri earned my complete confidence, protected my health, helped me understand my condition, and made things as pleasant as possible. The resident Dr. Najz (sp?) was thoughtful and quick-witted, and also gentle and fast at collecting the specimens, though not the best communicator.

    Dr Sri is amazing! I feel very confident in her knowledge and skills and trust her implicitly. I really appreciate it that we are working together to save my sight and it's a team effort. I wish you had an Excellent option since that is what I would rate her.

    The resident sits typing most of the time instead of interacting with the patient. Needs to figure out a way to do both, or interact with patient and write it up after. Also figure out how to communicate with the doctor and brief her openly without doing it sotto voce in front of the patient as if there's something to hide

    I've had more than a few ophthalmologists over the years, and Dr. Sri Is, by far, the best. She has skill and knowledge that she expertly applies, but always shows me respect, care and compassion while treating my eye disease. She Is my favorite medical provider.

    I was hoping to get the things we discussed (name of eye vitamins, eye drop regimen) in the Visit Summary, but no summary came, so I had to send a message with my questions to the doctor in MyChart.

    I was very satisfied with concern showed and care. A bit more details about the medications (including eye drops) and contact lens would have left me with fewer questions later but this is not a criticism . . .
