About me
Dr. Steven Nguyen, who goes by Sen, is a family doctor who provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. They aim to forge partnerships with their patients, creating a space where individuals and families feel heard. They have particular interests in trauma-informed care (an approach that takes into account past traumatic experiences), gender-affirming care (treatments that help transgender and nonbinary individuals align their lives with their gender identity), health equity and reproductive health.
Nguyen earned their medical degree at the University of Virginia School of Medicine. They completed a residency in family medicine at the University of New Mexico and served as chief resident in their final year. Before coming to UCSF, they worked at a community health center that provides medical care for all patients regardless of ability to pay.
Nguyen is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and World Professional Association for Transgender Health.
