Joey Lake

Joey Lake is a nurse practitioner who provides care in the hospital for patients with blood cancers. He works as part of the oncology team to evaluate and manage patients having chemotherapy, biotherapy (treatments that target the immune response using substances made from living organisms) and stem cell transplants. He also performs certain procedures to diagnose or treat disease, such as bone marrow biopsies and lumbar punctures.

Lake earned his master's degree in nursing from the University of Central Florida. Prior to joining UCSF's blood cancer team, he worked in critical care for more than a decade.
