Kate Teague

Nurse coordinator

Kate Teague serves as nurse coordinator in the UCSF Biochemical Genetic Medicine Clinic, caring for adults and children with lysosomal storage disorders (a group of more than 50 inherited diseases that affect the metabolic system). She has more than 30 years of nursing experience.

Teague earned an associate degree in nursing at the Bridgeport Hospital School of Nursing. She earned her bachelor of science degree in nursing at Southern New Hampshire University. She is a certified neonatal intensive care unit nurse. She formerly cared for babies in neonatal intensive care, particularly those born prematurely or with heart issues.

Teague has a special interest in bioethics and served on a hospital-wide ethics committee for three years. She belongs to the American Nurses Association, National Association of Neonatal Nurses and International Society of Nurses in Genetics.
