Kathryn M. Mercado

Kathryn Mercado is a family nurse practitioner who believes in taking a collaborative approach with her patients. She seeks to provide them with the tools and knowledge they need to make informed health decisions.

Mercado has a special interest in preventive and holistic care. She is also passionate about nurse practitioner training and mentorship, as well as global health promotion, or improving health all around the world through government policy, education and city design.

A Bay Area native, Mercado earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the University of San Francisco before graduating from San Francisco State University's family nurse practitioner program. She previously worked as a cardiac nurse practitioner, often caring for heart transplant patients after surgery.
