You can choose UCSF and Hill Physicians if you get your health care in San Francisco and you're a member of an HMO such as:

UCSF's affiliation with Hill Physicians also may affect you if you're a member of a point of service (POS) plan.
If you are a member of a preferred provider organization (PPO) plan that is contracted with UCSF, you can see a UCSF doctor without selecting Hill Physicians as your medical group.
UCSF is not an in network provider for Brown & Toland Physicians patients. Referrals to most UCSF specialists from Brown & Toland primary care doctors require prior authorization, with the exception of pediatric specialty and obstetric care. These patients may see a UCSF specialist without prior authorization.
