Dr. Karin Gaensler is a specialist in cancers of the blood who has a special interest in gene therapy. She is currently working to develop novel approaches for treating blood disorders caused by a specific gene mutation.
Gaensler earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She then went on to complete her residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in hematology and oncology at UCSF.
Gaensler has received numerous awards, including a fellowship from the American Cancer Society, a fellowship from the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and a physician-scientist award from the National Institutes of Health.
